About
Zenén Vizcaíno (Havana, 1962) is a Cuban visual artist whose work blends Latin American graphic tradition with a deeply personal aesthetic exploration. Trained in printmaking at the prestigious San Alejandro Academy, he has mastered techniques such as woodcut, etching, and lithography, developing a visual language rich in symbolism, spirituality, and cultural memory. In recent years, his practice has expanded into large-format painting while preserving his signature graphic gestures. He has held over 30 solo exhibitions across countries like Cuba, Mexico, Germany, and Switzerland, and his work is included in notable public and private collections. Vizcaíno is a member of UNEAC and the Taller Experimental de Gráfica de La Habana, and spent over a decade teaching at the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila in Mexico.
Throughout more than three decades, Zenén Vizcaíno has built a robust exhibition career, with over 30 solo shows and dozens of group exhibitions across Cuba, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, and the United States. His solo exhibitions trace the evolution of his graphic language, from Havana’s most emblematic galleries to public art interventions and major cultural institutions. In parallel, his participation in numerous group exhibitions—including biennials, international print festivals, and curatorial projects across Europe, the Americas, and Asia—has positioned him as a significant voice in contemporary Latin American art. His work’s adaptability and symbolic depth have resonated widely, sustaining a career that bridges technical tradition and contemporary expression.
