About
Raúl Ramírez is a visual artist from Oaxaca, currently based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas. His work invites us into a dreamlike and deeply symbolic universe where popular culture, myth, and spirituality merge with expressive force. Through a vivid color palette, fantastical figures, and a mix of techniques ranging from painting to sculpture and printmaking, he builds visual narratives that reimagine Mexican tradition through an intimate and contemporary lens. His art is visceral, introspective, and emotional—yet deeply collective.
With over nine years of experience, Raúl has established a strong presence in the contemporary Mexican art scene. He has participated in more than 80 exhibitions in Mexico and abroad, showcasing his work in countries such as Italy, France, Spain, India, Nigeria, China, Bangladesh, Ireland, the United States, Peru, and Argentina. His multidisciplinary approach blends traditional techniques like printmaking and bronze sculpture with experimental processes using natural pigments. Throughout his career, he has been featured in prestigious platforms and has developed projects with cultural, editorial, and community impact.
