About
Edison Blas is a multidisciplinary artist from Oaxaca, Mexico, known for his emotionally charged, symbolic, and dreamlike visual language. His work spans painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, muralism, and photography—each piece opening a window into a personal universe rich in irony, color, and poetic tension. Blas merges geometric elements, organic structures, and distorted human figures to create scenes that explore both individual emotion and collective identity. He works across mediums with fluidity and freedom, using art as a tool for introspection and transformation.
Originally trained in graphic design, Edison Blas expanded his practice through specialized studies in bronze sculpture, marble lithography, and printmaking in Oaxaca. Since 2010, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Mexico and abroad, including shows at Galería 910, the Casa de la Cultura Oaxaqueña, and Casa Mèxic in Barcelona. His work has been featured in national and international cultural forums, with a consistent presence in both gallery and urban spaces. In 2023, his exhibition Evocation Through Symbol at the Mexican Senate highlighted his ability to translate emotional depth into compelling visual form. Alongside his studio practice, Blas maintains an active digital presence, sharing process, reflection, and new work with a growing audience.
