About the Artwork
El ambiente de salema conjures a dreamlike aquatic world where myth and memory intertwine. The central mermaid figure, crowned and accompanied by fish, moons, and stars, becomes a guardian of the sea and its mysteries. Through his gestural lines and stark contrasts, Blas reflects on cycles of fertility, femininity, and the cosmic interdependence of life. The piece resonates with both ancestral symbolism and contemporary ecological concerns.
