About the Artwork
In Toreros, Cirilasso reduces the matador figure to raw, almost primitive outlines, emphasizing the ritualistic repetition of the bullfighter’s stance. The ink washes and earthy tones create a sense of immediacy, as if capturing fleeting shadows on the sand of the arena. The three figures stand side by side, embodying both anonymity and universality, transforming bullfighters into archetypes of endurance and tradition.
