Pescado revisits one of the most recurrent motifs in Western painting: the fish. Traditionally associated with sustenance, spirituality, and mortality, Barajas resignifies it through a fragmented and overlapping composition. The figures of the fish appear suspended, almost theatrical, oscillating between the sacred and the mundane. The drips and cuts in the forms suggest decay and transformation, reflecting on cycles of abundance and loss.
