About
Enrique Barajas Pro is a Mexican visual artist born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, known for a bold, critical, and deeply symbolic visual language. A self-taught artist since childhood, Barajas constructs vibrant compositions that confront social archetypes and cultural tensions through expressive color and gesture. His work fuses introspection with context, offering a powerful reflection on identity, daily life, and collective memory.
Barajas trained through both self-directed practice and formal workshops, including the “Julio Ruelas” Independent Printmaking Studio in Zacatecas and later the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. Under mentors like Alejandro Nava, Francisco Castro Leñero, and Joan Hernández Pijoan, he refined his technical and conceptual approach. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows across Mexico and Spain. In 2022, the Francisco Goitia Museum hosted Arquetipos y Estereotipos, a landmark exhibition featuring 56 works that spanned over a decade of his production. Since 2004, he has also taught drawing and painting, merging education with a committed artistic practice.
